This survey is an effort to hone in on the questions that will help UlsterCorps better understand
what motivates people to volunteer and what discourages them from giving their time.
We hope that this survey will generate information that agencies can use to better recruit and
retain volunteers. We also hope it will help UlsterCorps generate ideas about possible
training/orientation of volunteers and for the work of a volunteer coordinator. In addition, we may
also glean some information that would be of use to businesses trying to encourage their
employees to volunteer.
